How to convert WEBP to PNG

The transparency safe option

Logos, icons and cut out product shots saved from the web are usually transparent WebP files. Converting those to JPG fills the background with white, which is exactly what you do not want. PNG keeps the alpha channel, so the image drops onto any colour cleanly.

Lossless from here

PNG stores pixels exactly, so nothing further is lost no matter how many times you re-save. The conversion cannot undo compression already applied by the WebP, but it does stop the decline, which makes PNG the right target when the image is heading into a design tool.

Is the transparent background kept?

Yes. Alpha is copied across pixel for pixel, so an image with soft transparent edges keeps those edges.

Why is the PNG larger than the WebP?

PNG is lossless and WebP is not, so the same image needs more data. Flat graphics and icons grow only slightly, photographs grow a lot.

Does it handle animated WebP?

PNG holds one frame, so an animated WebP converts to its first frame. Nothing is lost from the original file, which stays as it is.

How many can I do at once?

There is no fixed limit. Batches are converted one file at a time on your device, with a progress bar and a ZIP download at the end.
